Celebrate Co-op Week 2025

It’s finally here! Co-op Week 2025 is October 12th-18th. We invite our members to come and join our Homestead Co-op team in celebrating Co-op, and all we have to offer. We have cool contests and giveaways all week, so make sure to stop by our locations and follow our Homestead Co-op social media pages! We’re holding a colouring contest, tastings, manager’s special and covering grocery bills at each of our Food Stores, along with our second ever Throwback Sale with THROWBACK PRICES.

We’re giving away free car washes at our Portage la Prairie Gas Bars, creating a social media contest, and holding two membership drives in Carman and Portage la Prairie.

Equity Cheques

We’re continuing the Co-op Week excitement by reminding our members about their equity cheques. When you’re a member, you’re an owner. The amount members potentially receive in their cheques is based on a percentage of their purchases throughout the year.

Canada Post Strike Update

If the Canada Post Strike is resolved by October 31, 2025 the equity cheques will be mailed out. Should the strike continue past October 31st, Homestead Co-op will distribute equity cheques in-person in several of our communities on select dates (details to come).

Join the Homestead Co-op team October 12th-18th to celebrate Co-op Week! Here are some of the fun things planned for Co-op Week 2025:

TASTE THE CO-OP DIFFERENCE

Discover new flavours during Co-op Week! Join our Portage Food Store Team for a special tasting experience that will delight your tastebuds! Throughout the week, you’ll find samples from different departments, like delicious (deli cheeses paired with fresh produce and refreshing drinks). Explore new flavour combinations and discover you’ll love!
We’re featuring Co-op products and locally made goods whenever possible, so you can experience the best of what our community has to offer. Don’t miss out on this tasty journey – it’s the perfect opportunity to try something new and stock up on your favourites!

‘THOUGHTFUL THURSDAY’ SOCIAL MEDIA CONTEST

Check out Homestead Co-op on Facebook and Instagram on Thursday October 16th. Tell us what you love most about Homestead Co-op to be entered to win a $50 Co-op Gift Card, and we may share your feedback with others! It could be your favourite Co-op product, exceptional employees, your favourite Homestead location; the sky is the limit! Get creative and tell us what makes Co-op special to you. Plus, your feedback may be shared with others!

KIDS CLUB COLOURING CONTEST

Colouring pages will be available at our Food Stores, or you can print one at home starting October 6th. Please see the attachments below for our colouring sheets. Colouring sheets must be in by Sunday October 19th. One winner will be chosen from each of our four Food Stores in Carman, La Salle, Portage la Prairie, and Treherne.

Draws will be made Monday, October 20th. No purchase necessary.

WIN-IT-WEDNESDAY- WIN YOUR GROCERY PURCHASE

When you shop at one of our Food Stores during Co-op Week, every qualifying transaction gives you the chance to win back. When members spend a minimum of $50, you can be entered to win your purchase, up to $150. This includes Homestead Co-op Food Stores in Carman, La Salle, Portage la Prairie and Treherne. Reminder- you must be a Homestead Co-op member to enter!

WIN A CAR WASH

Random free car washes are being given out to members at our Homestead Co-op Portage la Prairie Gas Bars between Tuesday October 14th and Friday October 17th.

MEMBERSHIP DRIVE

Have you been holding off on getting a membership with Homestead Co-op? We’re holding a membership drive at our Carman and Portage la Prairie Food Stores from 11-5 pm on Friday October 17th. Every new member who signs up and pays the $10 membership fee will receive a $10 Co-op gift card, essentially making your membership free! Members can also enter to win a prize basket!
